Green councillors oppose increase in allowances

The Green Group of Councillors voted against the move to Ipswich and against the increase in allowances.  We (Councillors Anne Killett, Sarah Mansel, John Matthissen, Andrew Stringer, Keith Welham and Rachel Eburne) strongly believe that Mid Suffolk should have a headquarters within its own district and we should not be giving ourselves a 25% increase to our own allowances. 

 Group leader Rachel Eburne said:

"We voted against these because we simply don’t believe they are in the best interests of our communities.  Our role as Councillors is to represent residents and businesses within our villages and towns, doing the best we can for them while also holding the Council to account."
