Since being elected in the Mendlesham Ward as the first ever Green Party District Councillor in Suffolk, in 2003, I have worked tirelessly to make a difference. From clearing up fly-tipping and litter to re-establishing local services, NHS Dentists, Bus Services, Post Offices, Affordable Housing and much more. In 2007 I was re elected with over 75% of the vote. I now have a proven track record of real achievement, not based on party politics but earned through hard work.
I have lived in this division all my life. My two children, Alice 20 and Jacob 16 have both attended local schools, making them the third generation of our family to do so. I am the only candidate from any party to live in the division.
Being Green is now more important than ever, not only environmentally but financially. I am conscious of the fact that it is your money that must be used responsibly. I have never claimed expenses and don't intend to and have convinced Mid Suffolk Council to implement some real savings.
I am proud of my achievements as a part-time councillor; if this was a full-time commitment I could accomplish so much more. We now face a 'County' future: Waste Incineration, Schools Organisational Review, New Homes Programme, Public Transport - these are some of the vitally important topics that need a strong Independent Green voice to ensure Suffolk has both a financially and environmentally sustainable future.
Thank you for the amazing support you have given me so far.
