Lucy Elkin
DISTRICT COUNCILLOR FOR EYE OCCOLD AND REDLINGFIELD
First elected in the local election in May 2023, representing Eye Ward (Eye, Occold and Redlingfield.)
- Lucy is currently a member of the District Council’s Planning Committee and the Working Group on Biodiversity.
- Her experience is in project management in the charity sector. After gaining an MSc in International Development, she worked with a refugee women’s organisation in Thailand, and then with two national UK charities - The Tropical Health and Education Trust, and the Scarman Trust. More recently she has worked on projects helping people in Suffolk and Norfolk to return to work, particularly those with long-term health conditions and disabilities.
- Lucy has sat on the management committees of a small international charity working with refugees, and a local Suffolk pre-school.
- Locally she has been a keen advocate of encouraging children’s participation in nature-based activities, running a gardening club at her local Primary School. She is currently helping to set up a new group to monitor and improve water quality in the River Dove.
- Lucy lives in Occold with her family.
