First elected in May 2019 representing Gislingham Ward. Re-elected in May 2023.

Rowland is Chairman of Mid Suffolk District Council, since May 2023.
He has lived in Suffolk since 1980 and in Mellis since 1988
Rowland taught in Ipswich and then at Stowupland High School, finally retiring in 2012
He is a founder member of Mellis Cricket Club
Rowland was Parish Clerk for Thrandeston for 5 years
He is trustee for Mellis Memorial Hall
He works to put our communities on the route to a more sustainable and democratic future, not just for ourselves, but for generations stretching out into the future.
