Mid Suffolk District Council have agreed a long lease of 11 Market Place, the former Stowmarket NatWest bank, enabling the John Peel Centre for Creative Arts to expand and link to the Market Place.
Green Party councillors, backers of the Centre from its inception, have welcomed the decision: Shadow Portfolio for Investment in the Green and Liberal Democrat group, Councillor John Matthissen said:
"Both halves of the Council agree that we must make Stowmarket an attractive centre for entertainment and cultural activities, and nothing has done more to bring that about than the John Peel Centre.”
